Learning Network Initiatives

After the planning session in the SNCF, follow-up meetings are arranged with Pioneering LCs on the LN implementation. Especially, the meetings are focusing the Structured Learning Process(SLP). After confirming the timeline of the whole LN implementation, MC will sign up to the two Initiative Groups - Finance and Corporate Responsibility (CR).

For CR LN, the following countries will commit to running LN on Corporate Responsibility or Business Responsibility (term may vary in different countries)

SSGN: Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica & Ecuador
AP: Mainland of China, Hong Kong, India & Sri Lanka
CEE+WENA: Germany, UK, Romania, Poland, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland,
Estonia, Czech Republic & The Netherlands
Africa: Nigeria, Kenya

It's exciting to see the countries are diverse. AIESEC in HONG KONG definitely looks forward to cooperation with these countries on the issue of CR.

For Finance Learning Network The success of the LN does not only rely on our commitments, but also the support from our universities and external organizations. After drafting the “prototype” of the LN has been designed, the next step is to seek advice and support from the bodies mentioned. Let's make the LN real and value-added to the SLP.

Common Recruitment

The first page of AIESEC in HONG KONG 05/06 ---- Recruitment!

Common Recruitment Days and SNCF symbolize the first step of our Journey in AIESEC. PVPs, PDOs, HROs and EC-OGXs of AIESEC in HONG KONG all sat down together to plan for our Year of Excellence and simulate the BIG Picture of our coming recruitment!

Thank you all for all the effort and participation!

Upcoming, we will be preparing materials to support the Common Recruitment: Leaflet, case-studies, banner, poster, PowerPoint…etc. They will be ready by Mid-July, by then LC could customize it and get it ready in Early August. Nonetheless these materials would be useless without a Fantastic Promotion Campaign. Let’s get it started! Feel free to contact me, if there’re any questions. Let’s make it happen!

New Member Structure

(1) Train the Leader Day!!

All our LCs will have their recruitment and induction from mid-August to November. And soon!!! We all understand how important team/groups leaders are during induction and taking up responsibility stage. They are the ones who influence your members most.

That’s why we have Train the Leader Day in early August. Only leaders-to-be of the coming induction and taking up responsibility stage are eligible to attend this training, in which team management skills and counseling skills (for goal setting and performance tracking) will be covered.

Details will be discussed in HR Standing Committee.

(2) SNCF Follow-up

Hey thanks for your hard work in SNCF Member Structure Session! Remember the LC structure chart you made? It indeed helps understanding an LC from an organizational perspective! We have studied your charts and will give you feedbacks in the coming week

Key Driver: Mandy Law, Director (HR)e, 05/06, contact: mandy.law@aiesec.hk

Structured Learning Process

LC SLP plans from HKUST, HKU, PolyU and Lingnan have been received. We hope to receive the remaining in the coming week.

We are going to study the plans one by one and give feedbacks to each LC by July 9. And LCs will have 2 weeks to revise and send it back.

Hey! Remember this is not just a plan, this is our @XP for all our @ers – your members, your “todais”, your trainees and your alumni ! This is their experience in @! Let’s have a good planning now! A good planning which enables us to turn ideas into reality in the coming year!

Partnership Update

Welcome gathering for AI VPER and LC visits Due to expectation mismatched, the partnership between AIESEC in HONG KONG and The Standard will not be renewed in the coming year. And there is feasible to launch a project with South China Morning Post and Cathay Pacific Airways on featuring AIESEC in newspapers. The focus will be put on International Conferences and Exchange Programs. Further negotiation with both parties is needed.

Alumni Gathering

An alumni gathering was held by Eva Chan & Ivan Chiu on 25 June. About 50 alumni and members joined the event. We not only demonstrated AIESEC roll calls and drank a lot, but also had great sharing with alumni. We definitely felt the power of AIESEC family.

After the SNCF, we should recap on the learning points about the whole planning process. Recap will be arranged between LCPs and MC and later on LCPs and LC officers.

Everybody is planning hard. All of us should agree the planning is important and should be constantly reviewed so that we can accomplish our goals. For MC and LC, we shall have several plans for us to better understand each other’s goals and allocation of resources. The whole LC plan should be break down into functional area plans (of each area) and individual plans (of each individual officer). MC will communicate this idea with LC soon.
