Recognised for Leadership Development in Australia
| |
AIESEC in Australia is the proud recipient of the 2008 Diversity@Work Award ‘Recognising today’s youth as the future of tomorrow’ for our commitment to young people.
As winners of the youth category for small and medium businesses, our work was commended by luminaries including Sir Bob Geldof, World Vision Australia Chief Executive Reverend Tim Costello and Minister for Employment Participation Brendan O'Connor at a gala dinner in Melbourne. |
 |
| |
Pieter Leonard, Vice-President for Business Development represented AIESEC on the night and spoke on what winning the award means for AIESEC.
“This award means recognition for what AIESEC is striving for through our 60 year history; creating the leaders of the future, prepared to address the issues that are important to society.
“This is not only recognition for the current 700 Australian members, it’s a reward for all 32,000 members and one million alumni all over the world that strive to realise this every day.” |
|
|
Jacob Formosa, current President of AIESEC in Australia added that the award has special meaning.
“It has been some time since AIESEC in Australia has been recognised for the work which we do in developing future leaders. This award shows just how beneficial a diverse workforce can be and the value of having high quality, motivated young people within an organisation. "
“It is the very thing which has kept AIESEC alive for 60 years.Diversity@Work recognises this, not only through this award, but through having former AIESEC member, Melissa Soh, as part of their organisation.” |
|
| |
AIESEC in Australia would like to thank Diversity@Work and all of the event sponsors for helping us to celebrate our mutual commitment to inclusion and diversity. |
